About Bagerhat

Bagerhat district of Khulna division has a total area of 3,959 square kilometers. It is the home of the Royal Bengal Tigers. Bagerhat sub-division became a district in 1984. The district has 9 upazilas, 75 unions, 723 mauzas, 1,031 villages, 3 paurashavas, 27 wards and 56 mahallas. Best Time to Visit at Bagerhat

The best time to visit Bagerhat, is in between October to February, as the weather is cooler during this time. The average temperature is 26 °C (78 °F) during these months. But to see the real beauty and the greens, one has to visit during Rainy season i.e. June to September which is warmer by the way. But try to avoid May as it’s the warmest of all months at Bangladesh. Keep an eye for cyclones if you plan your visit from April to May and September to November.

How to Reach Bagerhat

By Road

- By Private Vehicle: One can go to Bagerhat by own vehicle or by hiring one. There will be one ferry between Mawa-Kawrakandi or at Paturia-Daulatdia to cross the Padma river. Mawa-Kawrakandi ferry will take longer time to cross and one can see the ongoing work of 'Padma Bridge' during the crossing (as on 2017).
- By Bus: Different bus services are available from Dhaka to Bagerhat. Sheba Green Line (Gabtoli Bus Terminal, +880 1733-337646), Diganta Paribahan (), Comfort Line Pvt Ltd. (), Hanif Enterprise () are some of them. Ticket price ranges from 350 to 600 as of 2017.

By Railway

- Dhaka to Khulna by train. Khulna to Bagerhat by road.
